The batman car by bob dullam
A man by the name of Bob Dullam has created a complete replica of the Tumbler from The Dark Knight. Many people left the theatres inspired after watching The Dark Knight film, and one of these people, Bob Dullam, have gotten immensely inspired that he was able to come up with his own Batman Tumbler. In case you’re wondering, yes, it’s a working replica of the Tumbler found in the film. What’s more impressive, however, is that Dullam made it all by himself in his garage.
Once you check out the pictures of the Batman Tumbler below, you can see that almost every detail is there: the huge, double-barrel wheels, the afterburner…heck, Dullam even came up with the Batsuit to go with the impressive set of wheels.
How much did the project cost? Dullam has given an estimate of US$ 50-70k. It’s a pretty steep price for a hobby, but hey, some people just have lots of time and money to spend.Sunday, December 7, 2008
Lamborghini’s unique Miura Roadster on auction
Lamborghini’s unique Miura Roadster could never make it to the racetrack since it was originally designed in 1967 as a pure exercise in aesthetics to preserve interest in the Miura Coupe. But the company is now offering the unique Miura Roadster for sale through the Kidston auction house in Switzerland. Motor Authority reports, “The car never made production due to stress-tolerance difficulties in its windshield design. Nevertheless, the car’s lines captured the imaginations of fans the world over.” And, the auction provides the collectors a chance to acquire the one-off creation. The car is finished in a light metallic blue with an off-white leather interior with red carpeting. The dashboard and steering remained black. The car has been featured in museums and private collections around the world. Miura was even ranked second in show at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, losing out only to the magnificent 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Berlinetta of Jon Shirley. Now the car has been restored at a monumental cost of $330K according to the auction house to full original condition. But, it is expected to fetch a stratospheric figure, regardless of the tough economy.

Peugeot 908 RC Concept
The 908 RC is powered by Peugeot's V12 HDi DPFS (diesel particulate filter system) diesel engine designed to take part in the "Le Mans Race Series" programme in 2007. The engine has a capacity of 5.5-litres and offers a level of performance unprecedented for a diesel engine, with a maximum power output greater than 700bhp and, above all, an exceptional torque in excess of 1200Nm. With a 100 V angle architecture, the engine's centre of gravity is as low as possible. Two particulate filters are located at the end of each exhaust system ensuring the car's environmentally-friendly credentials. The originality of the 908 RC resides in its compact design, with the engine arranged in a rear central transverse position. Similarly the compact 6-speed electronically controlled sequential gearbox has been specially adapted to withstand the phenomenal torque, and is located under the engine. The position of the power train allows the creation of a large-capacity boot, situated behind the final drive assembly and therefore not encroaching on the generous interior space of the passenger compartment. This design also allows the driving position to be moved forward, maximising the driving experience for both the driver and the passengers.
PORSCHE buys TESLA ROADSTER
Porsche did the same thing with a Nissan GT-R, leading to accusations that Nissan faked the Nurburgring record by using racing treads.
So what's Porsche gonna think about Tesla's sporty EV? Maybe they'll claim the Tesla Roadster doesn't actually run off pure electricity this time. Watch out, Tesla.
Actually, the luxury sport car company is being quite open about its purpose, which is to drive the Tesla, take it apart, study it and figure out what makes it tick. Porsche plans on cranking out its own electric sports car, which is rumored to already be in the works.
